Choosing the Right Class

Business Class suits most corporate and airport transfers, and Economy Class covers the same routes in a fully electric car for less. First Class is for weddings and occasions where the arrival is part of the point, and Enthusiast sits above it for the days when the car itself is the occasion. Business Van and Executive Group vehicles handle families, group tours and wedding parties who need extra seating and luggage space. If you are unsure which class fits your trip, mention your passenger count and occasion when requesting a quote and we will recommend the right vehicle.

Start With Luggage, Not Seats

The most common booking mistake is counting passengers and ignoring suitcases. A sedan that seats four comfortably will not take four large checked bags. As a rough guide: two passengers with two large cases fit any class; four passengers with four large cases need a van; anything above that should be quoted as a group vehicle. Tell us both numbers and the problem disappears.

Three Classes, Not a Model List

We work in classes, not a long list of models. Book a class and you know the standard of vehicle that will arrive: an electric car, an executive sedan, a flagship saloon, a van sized around the group, or a Bentley-class car for an occasion. Named models are a guide, and an equivalent vehicle of the same standard may arrive.

Matching Class to Occasion

Airport transfers

Business Class handles the overwhelming majority of Melbourne Airport and Avalon runs. Move up to a van once you pass three passengers with full luggage.

Corporate travel

Business Class again, unless you are collecting a board member or client where presentation is part of the message, in which case First Class earns its premium. See corporate chauffeur for how we handle multi-stop days.

Weddings and occasions

First Class for the couple, a van or group vehicle for the party. Our wedding page covers timing around ceremony and reception.

Tours and regional days

For full-day touring through the Yarra Valley or along the Great Ocean Road, comfort over distance matters more than badge. Groups should default to a van; couples are well served by Business or First Class.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose a class?
Start with the passenger count, then the luggage count. Those two answer it most of the time. If you are still unsure, send both numbers with your enquiry and we will recommend one.
What is the real difference between Business and First Class?
Rear space and presence. Both are well presented and both are driven to the same standard. First Class matters when the arrival will be seen or photographed.
Can I request a specific model?
You can ask, and we will tell you honestly whether it is available for your date. What we commit to is the class, which sets the standard of vehicle that arrives.
What if my group does not fit one vehicle?
We run multiple vehicles as a single coordinated booking so the group still arrives together. Send the total headcount and we plan the split.
Are child seats available in every class?
Infant, toddler and booster seats can go in any class for $5 per seat, per journey, fitted before pickup. Note that a child seat occupies one of the passenger seats.
What does waiting cost in each class?
Each class has its own per-minute waiting rate, and it only applies once the free waiting period has run out. Economy is $1.35 a minute ($81 an hour), Business Class and Van & Group $1.50 ($90 an hour), First Class $2.40 ($144 an hour) and Enthusiast $4.75 ($285 an hour), all including GST. The hourly figures are also what hourly hire costs in each class. The free periods and how flight delays are treated are set out in our FAQ.
Is the luggage guidance strict?
It is a guide, not a rule. Soft bags pack differently from hard cases, and a boot that takes three large cases might take four small ones. Tell us what you actually have and we will be straight with you.
