Chauffeur Transport To and From Geelong

Geelong sits about 75 km from Melbourne down the Princes Freeway. In clear traffic the run into the CBD takes an hour. Through the morning peak it stretches well past that, which is why most Geelong work is booked ahead with a fixed pickup time and a price agreed up front.

Which Airport Makes Sense

Avalon is roughly 22 km from central Geelong, about twenty minutes door to door. Tullamarine is closer to ninety. If your airline flies from both, Avalon is the shorter transfer by a wide margin, though it serves fewer routes. Avalon also has no rail connection and a short taxi rank, so pre-booking matters more there than at Tullamarine. Both are covered on our Avalon transfer page and Melbourne Airport page.

The Bellarine and the Start of the Coast

Geelong is the way into the Bellarine Peninsula. Queenscliff, Portarlington, Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove all sit inside forty minutes, with the Bellarine cellar doors scattered between them. Torquay, where the Great Ocean Road begins, is 21 km away. Starting a coastal day here removes the first hour of freeway, which is why some guests book a Great Ocean Road day from a Geelong hotel instead of the city.

Around the City

The waterfront is the part visitors remember: Eastern Beach, Cunningham Pier and the painted bollards along the promenade. On match days at Kardinia Park the streets around the ground fill early and stay full afterwards. A drop-off and a pre-agreed collection point saves the parking hunt at both ends.

Business Travel

Client pickups, site visits and airport runs for visiting staff make up most of our weekday Geelong bookings. Corporate accounts work the same way here as in the CBD, and a car booked by the hour suits a day with several stops around the region.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the drive from Geelong to Melbourne Airport?
Allow about ninety minutes on the Princes Freeway and the Ring Road. During the morning peak it can run closer to two hours, so we set the pickup time around that buffer, not around a best-case run.
Is Avalon a better choice than Tullamarine for a Geelong pickup?
If your airline flies from Avalon, almost always. Avalon is about twenty minutes from central Geelong against ninety to Tullamarine. The trade-off is that Avalon serves far fewer destinations.
Can you collect from the Queenscliff ferry terminal?
We meet the Sorrento crossing at Queenscliff regularly. Send us the sailing time when you book, since the ferry runs to a fixed timetable and the terminal has very little parking.
Do you cover match days at Kardinia Park?
Match days are among the busiest things we run in Geelong. We drop close to the ground and collect from a point agreed in advance, clear of the worst of the exit traffic.
Can a Great Ocean Road day start from Geelong?
It often should. Torquay is 21 km from Geelong, so starting here saves roughly an hour each way against leaving from the city, and leaves more of the day for the coast itself.
Do you take corporate accounts for Geelong businesses?
Consolidated invoicing is available on request and works the same way for a Geelong account as a CBD one. Visiting executives, client transfers and airport runs are the usual bookings.
